
Standard Returns & Refund Policy
At Expert Tents Manufacturers, we take immense pride in the quality, durability, and craftsmanship of our products. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help you resolve the matter swiftly.
Our return policy is structured in strict accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
1. 14-Day Change of Mind Policy (Standard Stock Items)
If you have purchased a standard, non-customized stock item and wish to return it due to a change of mind, you may do so under the following conditions:

The item must be returned within 14 days of the delivery or collection date.

The tent and all accessories (poles, pegs, bags, ropes) must be completely unused, unaltered, and in their original packaging.

Logistics: The customer is responsible for the transport arrangements and costs associated with returning the item to our manufacturing warehouse.

Refund: Once inspected and approved by our quality control team, a refund will be processed minus a 10% handling/restocking fee.
2. Custom-Made and Bespoke Orders
Please note that a significant portion of our manufacturing involves custom sizes, specific canvas weights, and bespoke branding/printing.

In accordance with Section 20(3)(a) of the CPA, items that have been custom-made, altered, or manufactured to a customer's unique specifications cannot be returned or refunded for a change of mind.

We strongly advise reviewing all CAD drawings, dimensions, and material specifications prior to signing off on production.
3. Defective or Damaged Goods (Manufacturing Warranty)
We stand by our manufacturing standards. If a product is found to have a structural or manufacturing defect (e.g., faulty stitching, defective seams, or missing components):

Please notify us in writing at [Insert Email Address] within 6 months of purchase (as per Section 56 of the CPA), providing clear photographic evidence of the defect.

If the defect is verified as a manufacturing fault, Expert Tents Manufacturers will, at our discretion and expense, either repair the item, replace the item, or issue a full refund.

We will arrange and cover the courier collection costs for validated manufacturing defects.
4. Exclusions from Warranty & Returns
Expert Tents Manufacturers cannot accept returns, offer refunds, or clear warranty claims for damages caused by:

Normal wear and tear over extended use.

Misuse, negligence, or failure to follow standard pitching/erection instructions.

Severe weather events, including but not limited to gale-force winds, hail, flooding, or lightning.

Leaving tents pitched semi-permanently or permanently without choosing our specialized, UV-treated architectural fabrics.

Mould, mildew, or rot caused by packing or storing the tent while wet or damp.
5. Refund Processing Time

Once a return is received at our facility, please allow 3 to 5 working days for our technical team to inspect the tent.

Approved refunds will be paid via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into the customer's validated South African bank account within 7 to 10 working days of approval. No cash refunds will be issued.

Get a Signature: Print this policy on the back of your official quotations and invoices, and require wholesale or event hire clients to initial it before making their deposit.

The "Wet Tent" Rule: For tent manufacturers, the biggest issue is customers returning tents that have been packed away wet and have started to rot. Section 4 explicitly protects you against this common customer error.
